A gift I actually use
My sister got me this, and we ended up planting it together. Neither of us has much gardening experience, but the guide was easy to follow. I like the mix of basil, parsley, dill, chives, and cilantro rather than having several pots of the same thing. Such a nice present for someone who enjoys cooking.

One of my favorite housewarming gifts

My little kitchen garden

Yes. Herbs grow happily indoors all year. Just keep them in bright light, on a sunny windowsill or under a grow light, as the guide explains.
The included guide covers this step by step. As a rule of thumb, give them at least 6 hours of bright light a day. A south- or west-facing window works best. If your window gets less light, add a grow light for 12–14 hours a day.
The first sprouts usually appear within 1–2 weeks, and some can take a little longer. Keep the soil moist and warm, and be patient.

Yes, all five herbs are edible: pick the leaves and use them straight in the kitchen. Some of them can make pets sick if eaten, so keep the seeds and young plants out of your pets' reach.
