Being an exotic, tropical, plant collector, I'm really specific and picky about what I choose to use as potting substrates and what specific plants I use certain additives for. Using coco coir as part or all of a planting substrate is just part of the process. I was intrigued at first seeing how these little discs are so cute and neatly packaged in their container, and then you start to add water and watch the magic work!✅ A LOT IN A LITTLE CONTAINER: i really love that the soil is so compacted and dried, and is able to be stored the way it is in little discs inside the tube. this saves so much space, especially being able to use exactly however much you need and store the rest without having to deal with a big, soggy, soil bag, and making a mess.✅ A LITTLE IS A LOT: because these discs are so compressed and packed tightly, the second you add water, it's like watching magic happen. the disc continues to expand, and break apart into separate individual granules and absorbs the water. you can keep adding water until it cannot absorb anymore, and you should have very dense, moist, and fluffy potting soil made from coco coir.❌ SMALL GRANULES CAN TIGHTLY PACK, DEFINITELY NEED AMENDING: ive used plenty of pressed and compacted coco coir for potting soil before, but this is the first time that ive used potting soil that has been very crumbly, very dense, and has been a ton of very small particles and granules. when it's wet, its comparable to damp sand, just a little more fluffy. because of this, if you are to use this, i would. very highly recommend amending the soil with perlite, zeolite, charcoal, bark chips, granule fertilizer, etc. these tiny particles can become compacted and very tightly packed together which may make it difficult for roots (especially thinner more fragile roots), to grow through and expand within. so, adding some kind of mixture to break up the coco coir soil, is almost necessary.another important thing to keep in mind is that the coco coir, for the large part is completely INERT potting substrate. this means that it contains NO nutrients, NO vitamins, NO fertilizers, NO kind of sustenance to help the plant roots grow or thrive. therefore, it's pretty much essential to be able to add different things into the soil, to make it fertile and make it sustain a healthy plant and roots. just using liquid fertilizer when watering might work for some plant species, but it's still a really good idea to add something to the soil to mix it up and break up the small, compacted particles.◼ OVERALL RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐ FOUR STARS ——————————————————♡》》》 IN SUMMARY: i really love the packaging, the way it's presented, and everything, as it's very simple, basic, and nothing fancy, especially for what the product is. the small discs are great, especially if you're needing to fill a specific size pot, as im sure each disc can be accurately and precisely measured out to fill a certain size planter (ex. 1 disc can fill a 4" inch pot, etc.). the bowl in my pictures contains a total of 3 discs, and the container is a two quart bowl. so a little makes a lot and can go a long way. however, ive never encountered nor used coco coir that is this finely grinded and separated; it almost has the consistency of sand when damp. therefore, i highly recommend adding soil amendments to break up the compaction as well as using granule fertilizer, since this is also completely inert. i recommend this only if you're able to amend it, and also not to mention, for space and mess saving. ♡
Very good soil. One coir soil only fits small flower pot. Worth of every penny. Definitely recommend
I love this potting soil! One disc when hydrated is enough for about two 4” terracotta pots.I am using this in a mix for my 2yr old bonsai, and a few baby bonsai sprouts, as well as a 50/50 mix for my money tree! I am also attempting to get some very stubborn Dragon’s Blood Tree seeds to sprout with a 25/75 mix of this substrate and peat. (Wish me luck!!)This holds just enough moisture and nutrients for the young ones, and drains well enough to prevent root rot!!Super easy to use, warm water hydrate and toss in a pot! Does it get easier?Smells great, feels good, nice and “springy”.This is super worth it, and I will be purchasing more VERY VERY soon!
I planted my beautiful indoor tulips and it was quick and easy. I only planted it 2 days ago, so can only say I see no issues so far.
Very easy to use. The soil quality is a value for the money.
This is a very good product great value use it for my bonsai to change to pots
Thanks
very convenient!
I was excited to try this Coconut Coir Potting Soil for Indoor Plants, but unfortunately it didn’t work well for me. The texture is nice and lightweight, and it expands quickly with water, but after repotting, my plant is dying. I’m not sure if it’s the drainage or nutrients, but it just didn’t thrive in this mix. It might work better when blended with other soil, but on its own it wasn’t the right fit for my plant.

Exceptional soil, it’s very well draining, but it also holds enough water to nourish your plants
Great item! So convenient, compact, easy & Organic👍
Company was kind enough to send me a refund so I added a star back. Doesn't make as much dirt as these discs usually do. Probably not the most compact dirt disc I've bought before.... I've had some that were cheaper and made more organic dirt per disc, I'll probably go back to that brand. I buy them at dollar tree so they're extremely inexpensive compared to these. I was expecting triple the size according to the description. Really these are more expensive and make less dirt than they claim.
QUESS I WAS EXPECTING MORE OUT OF THIS. IT EXPANDS BUT NOT LIKE THE VIDEOS. I HAVE TO USE 4 CUBS FOR JUST A SMALL PLANTER, SO IT GETS EXPENSIVE TO USE. ILL BUY JUST REGULAR POTTING SOIL NEXT TIME
So convenient! Easy to use and worked great for my indoor plants
I only used it as a top soil, to replace a different soil which was infested with gnats, so I can't find a full review of the coconut coir's effect on plant growth. However, I can say that it was indeed easy to use. It expanded easily and beautifully when wet. I love that it is so compact, for easy storage and transport. I did not even notice the price until after I bought it but honestly I regret nothing. The coconut coir is light, fluffy and airy. I doesn't get compacted in the pot, so I imagine that allows roots to move freely. It feels light like freshly tilled soil. I'm curious about whether this wispy soil would keep heavy plants upright, though. It's barely heavy enough to keep my gnat traps upright. I understand why other reviewers chose to mix it with another soil for balance. Anyway, since it arrives dry and vacuum sealed, I have the confidence that the coconut coir brings no pests into my home. I will definitely buy this again soon. The 2 cylinders (15lb) covered the tops of 9 houseplants, but I need to totally repot a large snake plant which likely needs 30lb of soil itself.
Se seca súper rápido hay que estar regando mucho
Not sure I like the way yet retains moisture. I think I would like it better if I mixed it in with regular potting soil.
Good price
Purchased & received these items .Good Products/ Good Quality- Recommended. Hoping to have it ON SALE & i will buy more. I find it very expensive.
Love it!
The plants that started from seed love it. There’s no chance of bugs and it absorbs the water quickly to expand.
I got this soil for growing some bonsai Spruce seedlings, it's GREAT. Absorbs water quickly and fluffs up perfectly. Great to mix with a dryer soil mix. One soil puck makes a good deal and will last you a long while. As a bonus it smells great like fresh clean soil. It's exactly as described and works great.
These are perfect for potting and propagating my orchids.
One little disc makes an amazing amount of potting soil.
A bit expensive for the amount, but it's high quality starter soil and was great for starting an avocado seed in an indoor pot. Great at retaining moisture and was super easy to mix/expand. No weird smells/strange material to worry about, and quick to clean up.
Great quality soil - retains water well and it’s great for kids/preschoolers who can use it to plant indoors without the big mess.
It came in the convenience and compact package , but after used the first disk the next disk I have a hard time to get it out from the package
